What is Laser Abkant Press?

A laser Abkant press, also known as a laser folding press or a laser press brake, is a machine tool that uses a laser beam as the cutting tool to bend or fold sheet metal or other materials into a specific shape or design.

The press consists of a bed or table, which holds the material to be bent, and a laser beam generator, which applies the cutting force to the material. The laser beam generator is typically controlled using a computer numerical control (CNC) system, which allows for precise and accurate bending of the material.

To use a laser Abkant press, the material to be bent is placed on the bed of the press, and the desired bending line is marked on the material. The laser beam generator is then positioned above the material, and the CNC system is used to direct the laser beam along the marked line. The laser beam cuts through the material, creating a bend along the marked line. The angle of the bend and the laser beam cutting parameters, such as power and speed, can be controlled using the CNC system, allowing for precise and accurate bending of the material.

Once the bending is complete, the finished part or component is removed from the press and the process is repeated as needed to produce multiple parts or components. Laser Abkant presses are commonly used in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and electronics, where the production of precise and accurate bent parts and components is required. They are particularly useful for bending operations that require a high degree of accuracy and precision, as well as for cutting complex or intricate shapes that cannot be achieved using traditional Abkant presses.
